FAQs

FAQs

When is the library open?

The library is usually open from 8:00 A.M. until about 3:35 P.M. You should

have a pass from a teacher to come during the day so that a teacher always

knows where you are.

How much is a late fee?

We are not charging late fees this year!

When can I go to the library?

Your reading class will come to the library one period each week with your

reading class. You may also come any other time that your ELA teacher will give

you permission to leave class. All of our reading teachers are very good

about letting you come to the library if you need to.

How many books can I check out at one time?

The total number of books you may have checked out is two. If you want to

keep a book from an earlier checkout, then you will only be able to get one

more.

How much do I have to pay if I lose a book?

The cost of each book varies. You will have to come in and let us check the

price of the book you have lost. If you pay for a book, and then the book

is found later, we will return your money to you.

What should I do if I lose a book?

First -- LOOK, LOOK, LOOK!!!! Look in your locker, classrooms, lost and

found boxes, under your bed, in your car, and anywhere else you can think

of! If the book is overdue and you still can't find it, you may want to go

ahead and pay for it so that you can check out another book.

How can I tell if a book is an A.R. book?

All A.R. books in the library have a label at the top of the spine that has

a star on it. This label also tells the A.R. level and the number of points

a book is worth. For instance, if the label says "4.3/2", the reading level

of the book is 4.3 and the book is worth 2 points when you test over it.

How do I check out a magazine?

Once you have met your AR goal, you may check out a magazine. They are only

checked out for three days. You should always have at least one book

checked out also.
